The ones we list below are those with whom the VA Chess Federation has made arrangements.

The hotel rates and "reservation cut-off dates" are firm.

1. Holiday Inn Monticello-Charlottesville: 40 rooms available for Friday check-in and Sunday departure.

  • 1200 5th Street SW, Charlottesville, VA ... about an 8-to-10 minute drive to the school

  • Use this link to book your room Online, or call the hotel at 434-977-5100 ... the event code is "VCC". Rate is $115 + taxes beginning Jan 1, 2025 through Friday, Feb 7, 2025. After Feb 7th, all rooms at the hotel are released to hotel control and the "Chess Rate" will no longer be available.

  • An additional $10 per-person per-night will be charged for more than 4 people in the room.

2. Holiday Inn Charlottesville-University: 50 rooms available for Friday check-in and Sunday departure.

  • 50 rooms with 2 x Queen Beds per room

  • Rate is $149/night plus taxes through Monday, Feb 3, 2025. After that date the rate increases to the hotel's normal rack rate.

  • CALL THE HOTEL to get this rate. The number is 434-964-9278. If asked about a group name or group code, tell them it is for the Virginia Chess Tournament and give them your stay dates.

  • Rate is $149/night plus taxes through Monday, Feb 3, 2025. After that date the rate increases to the hotel's normal rack rate.

  • Rate is $149/night plus taxes through Thursday, Feb 6, 2025. After that date the rate increases to the hotel's normal rack rate.

5. Comfort Inn Monticello: 30 rooms available for Friday check-in and Sunday checkout.

  • Rate is $138/night + tax. Cut-off date for reservations at this rate is Thursday, Feb 13th. Available rooms are a mix of double-Queen and Single Queen or King.
