These are the hotels to select from.
The ones we list below are those with whom the VA Chess Federation has made arrangements.

All reservations are YOUR responsibility.

The hotel rates and "reservation cut-off dates" are firm.

1. Holiday Inn Monticello-Charlottesville: 40 rooms available for Friday check-in and Sunday departure.

  • 1200 5th Street SW, Charlottesville, VA ... about an 8-to-10 minute drive to the school

  • Early-bird rate of $105 + taxes available through Dec 31, 2024. You can CALL THE HOTEL at 434-977-5100 or use this booking link to receive the $105 rate. If they ask you for a group name or event code, use "VCH".

  • Rate increases to $115 + taxes beginning Jan 1, 2025 through Friday, Feb 7, 2025. After Feb 7th, all rooms at the hotel are released to hotel control and the "Chess Rate" will no longer be available.

  • An additional $10 per-person per-night will be charged for more than 4 people in the room.

  • No breakfast included.

2. Holiday Inn Charlottesville-University: 50 rooms available for Friday check-in and Sunday departure.

  • 1901 Emmet St. N., Charlottesville, VA ... about 15 minutes from the tournament location.

  • 50 rooms with 2 x Queen Beds per room

  • Rate is $149/night plus taxes through Monday, Feb 3, 2025. After that date the rate increases to the hotel's normal rack rate.

  • CALL THE HOTEL to get this rate. The number is 434-964-9278. If asked about a group name or group code, tell them it is for the Virginia Chess Tournament and give them your stay dates.

  • Free Full Breadkfast, free parking, Indoor Pool

3. Hilton Garden Inn Charlottesville: 30 rooms available for Friday check-in and Sunday checkout.

  • 1793 Richmond Rd, Charlottesville, VA ... about 10 minutes from the tournament location.

  • 30 rooms with 2 x Queen Beds per room

  • Rate is $149/night plus taxes through Monday, Feb 3, 2025. After that date the rate increases to the hotel's normal rack rate.

  • You may CALL THE HOTEL at 434-979-4442 (Option 0) and mention the Chess Tournament in March.

  • You may also BOOK ONLINE at www.charlottesville.stayHGI.com using Group Rate Code 91O (91 + the letter O, not zero).

  • Breakfast is NOT included. Free parking.

4. Sleep Inn & Suites Monticello: 15 rooms available for Friday check-in and Sunday checkout.

  • 15 rooms with 2 x Queen Beds per room

  • Rate is $149/night plus taxes through Thursday, Feb 6, 2025. After that date the rate increases to the hotel's normal rack rate.

  • You must CALL THE HOTEL at 434-244-9969 and mention the "VA Chess Federation" room block.

  • Free continental breakfast, WiFi, indoor heated ool, and indoor whirlpool. Free parking.
