Early Registration List

You must be a resident of Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia, Maryland or Washington DC to play.

Sections to Play in - 2 Scholastic Sections:  K-5 (not Rated) and K-12 (not Rated)
- Open Section:  For advanced scholastic players and Adults (USCF Rated)
Prizes Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals in ALL SECTIONS
- Gold Medals:  1st & 2nd Place
- Silver Medals:  3rd & 4th Place
- Bronze Medals:  5th & 6th Place
Entry Fee
$25 if received by Thursday, July 20th.  Increases to $35 after July 20th and at the Tournament Site on Saturday July 22nd.  Register in advance to pay by credit card.

The only ways to register are Online (see Early Registration below) or on-site at the Tournament.  There are no "mail-in", telephone or email entries allowed.

Note: The Registration process is owned by the VA Commonwealth Games staff, not the VA Chess Federation (VCF).  VCF cannot refund any entry fees.

7:30 - 9:15 AM at DeMoss Hall, Room 4066, on the Liberty Univ. Campus

Round Times / Schedule
Scholastic Sections:  All played at Game-40, with 5-second time delay
- Round 1:  10 AM Saturday morning
- Rounds 2-4:  Played as soon as possible after the previous round ends 

Open Section:  Rounds begin at the following times ...
- Round 1:  10 AM, Game-45, with 5-second time delay
- Round 2:  12:15 PM, same as Round 1
- Round 3:  2:30 PM, Game-60, with 5 second time delay
- Round 4:  5:30 PM, same as Round 3
Byes
One half-point bye is available.  Byes for Rounds 2, 3 or 4 must be requested before the start of Round 2 in all Sections.
Membership Requirements
Current USCF membership is required only in the Open Section, not in the Scholastic Sections Check your USCF membership here

Virginia Chess Federation membership is NOT required for this event.
