Five Rounds:  Round 1: G/90, d/5;   Rounds 2-5: G/120, d/5. 
Round times are:

• Saturday,Oct 21:  10am, 2pm, and 7pm;

• Sunday, Oct 22:  9:30am, and 2:30pm.

• One half-point bye allowed if requested by 1:30pm Saturday, Oct 21.

Location:  Holiday Inn Express, 1350 W. Atlantic St., Emporia, VA. $$825GTD, more if over 30 players. 1st-3rd overall, $300(Guaranteed)-200-100; Top U1700/Unrated, $80; Top U1200, $75; Top Junior $70 (18 yrs old or under).

 

Hotel Rooms:  Ten Rooms have been "blocked" for at the Holiday Inn Express at the Chess Rate of $83 per night, plus taxes.  Just mention the Emporia Open Chess Tournament.

 

Entry Fee:   Entry Fee beginning Sunday Oct 15 and on-site is $55.  If you sign up by email (see below) by Oct 14 you can pay the Early Entry Fee of $45 at the site.  All other on-site entries are $55.

 

Current VCF and USCF Memberships required:  North Carolina, West Virginia and other state federations recognized.  Please renew your USCF membership prior to the tournament (click here to join or renew your USCF membership).  VCF and USCF memberships also are available at the tournament site.
