Round times are:

• Saturday,Oct 20:  10am, 2pm, and 7pm;

• Sunday, Oct 21:  9:30am, and 1:30pm.

• One half-point bye allowed if requested by 1:30pm Saturday, Oct 20.

Location:  Holiday Inn Express, 1350 W. Atlantic St., Emporia, VA.

 

Prize Fund:  $$1,095, based on 25 players. 1st-3rd overall, $400(Guaranteed)-275-150; Top U1700/Unrated, $100; Top U1200, $90; Top Junior $80 (18 yrs old or under).

 

Hotel Rooms:  Ten Rooms have been "blocked" for at the Holiday Inn Express at the Chess Rate of $87 per night, plus taxes.   Call (434) 336-9999 BY OCTOBER 5th and mention the Emporia Open Chess Tournament.

 

Entry Fee:  $60 if you sign-up or mail your Entry by Saturday, Oct 13.  On Oct 14, and on-site, Entry Fee increases to $75. 

 

Current VCF and USCF Memberships required:  North Carolina, West Virginia and other state federations recognized.  Please renew your USCF membership prior to the tournament (click here to join or renew your USCF membership).  VCF and USCF memberships also are available at the tournament site.

1. On-line:  Click the "Enter Now" button to register ... On-line entry closes at 8:45 pm on 10/19

2. On-site:  Friday Oct 19, 7-9PM, Saturday Oct 20, 7:30-9:15AM.  Entry fee on site is $75.  Round 1 will start at 10AM sharp!!

3. US Mail Entry:  Not available after Oct 13th.
